Net inflow of Rs 280.55 crore on 14 December 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 280.55 crore from the secondary equity markets on 14 December 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 187.73 crore on 13 December 2017. On 14 December 2017, the Sensex rose 193.66 points or 0.59% to settle at 33,246.70, its highest closing level since 11 December 2017. FPIs bought shares for the third straight day.

The net inflow of Rs 280.55 crore on 14 December 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5025.97 crore and gross sales of Rs 4745.42 crore.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 184.30 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 14 December 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 226.88 crore and gross sales of Rs 42.58 crore.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 3721.08 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 14 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 9392.32 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 14 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 1203.92 crore from the primary market & others' category in December 2017 so far (till 14 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 10024.15 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 45226.67 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 14 December 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
