Net inflow of Rs 778.01 crore on 16 January 2018

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 778.01 crore from the secondary equity markets on 16 January 2018, higher than net inflow of Rs 154.52 crore on 15 January 2018. On 16 January 2018, the Sensex lost 72.46 points or 0.21% to settle at 34,771.05, its lowest closing level since 12 January 2018.

The net inflow of Rs 778.01 crore into the secondary equity markets on 16 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8255.06 crore and gross sales of Rs 7477.05 crore.

There was a net outflow of Rs 32.31 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 16 January 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 43.81 crore.

 

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 3340.71 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018 so far (till 16 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 299.08 crore into the primary market & others' category in January 2018 so far (till 16 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
