Net inflow of Rs 981.12 crore on 2 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased stocks worth a net Rs 981.12 crore from the secondary equity markets on 2 February 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 1171.84 crore on 1 February 2018. On 2 February 2018, the Sensex fell 839.91 points or 2.34% to settle at 35,066.75, its lowest closing level since 16 January 2018. FPs bought from equity markets for the second straight day.
The net inflow of Rs 981.12 crore into the secondary equity markets on 2 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7977.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 6996.34 crore.
There was an inflow of Rs 308.78 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 2 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 308.78 crore and zero gross sales.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 1888.74 crore from the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 2 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.

FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 15524.18 crore from the secondary equity markets in Calendar 2018 so far till 2 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in Calendar 2017.
