Net outflow of Rs 317.43 crore on 3 February 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have sold stocks worth a net Rs 317.43 crore on 3 February 2016, higher than net outflow of Rs 62.73 crore during the preceding trading session.
The net outflow of Rs 317.43 crore into the secondary equity markets on 3 February 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3178.26 crore and gross sales of Rs 3495.69 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex lost 315.68 points or 1.29% to settle at 24,247.21, its lowest closing level since 21 January 2016.
There was a net inflow of Rs 0.10 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 3 February 2016.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 709.98 crore from the secondary equity markets this month so far (till 3 February 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 10181.93 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 9471.95 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 3 February 2016). FPIs offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4361.67 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
