Net outflow of Rs 361.85 crore on 5 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 361.85 crore from the secondary equity markets yesterday, 5 September 2017, as compared to net selling of Rs 847.31 crore on 4 September 2017. On 5 September 2017, the Sensex rose 107.30 points or 0.34% to settle at 31,809.55, its highest closing level since 1 September 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 361.85 crore on 5 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2712.31 crore and gross sales of Rs 3074.16 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 135.49 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 5 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 135.89 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.40 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 1549.53 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 5 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore from the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
