Net outflow of Rs 549.83 crore on 23 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 549.83 crore into the secondary equity markets on 23 February 2018, compared with net outflow of Rs 2370.94 crore on 22 February 2018. On 23 February 2018, the Sensex had surged 322.65 points, or 0.95%, to settle at 34,142.15, its highest closing level since 15 February 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 549.83 crore from the secondary equity markets on 23 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5442.63 crore and gross sales of Rs 5992.46 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 1401.43 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 23 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1551.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 149.60 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 14800.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far (till 23 February 2018). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
