FPIs extend buying

Net inflow of Rs 398.48 crore on 10 May 2016

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 398.48 crore on 10 May 2016, as compared with net inflow of Rs 291.47 crore on 9 May 2016. The net inflow of Rs 398.48 crore into the secondary equity markets on 10 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3859.17 crore and gross sales of Rs 3460.69 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 83.67 points or 0.33% to settle at 25,772.53, its highest closing level since 27 April 2016.

There was an outflow of Rs 15.07 crore from 'primary markets & others' category on 10 May 2016 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.15 crore and gross sales of Rs 15.22 crore.

 

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 2.84 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 10 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12814.17 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 10 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.

The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 97.24 crore in this month so far (till 10 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 191.05 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 10 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
