Net inflow of Rs 312.49 crore on 12 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 312.49 crore from the secondary equity market on Tuesday, 12 July 2016, compared with inflow of Rs 1070.10 crore on Monday, 11 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 312.49 crore from the secondary equity markets on 12 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4139.54 crore and gross sales of Rs 3827.05 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 181.45 points or 0.66% to settle at 27,808.14, its highest closing level since 19 August 2015.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3041.22 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 12 July 2016). FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 21277.20 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 12 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 260.83 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 12 July 2016). There has been a net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1191.44 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 12 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
