Net outflow of Rs 821.60 crore on 12 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 821.60 crore into the secondary equity markets on 12 February 2018, lower than net outflow of Rs 1276.11 crore on 9 February 2018. On 12 February 2018, the Sensex rose 294.71 points or 0.87% to settle at 34,300.47, its highest closing level since 8 February 2018. Stock market had remained shut yesterday, 13 February 2018, on account of Mahashivratri.
The net outflow of Rs 821.60 crore from the secondary equity markets on 12 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4350.72 crore and gross sales of Rs 5172.32 crore.
There was an outflow of Rs 57.73 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 12 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.82 crore and gross sales of Rs 61.55 crore.
FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 6982.91 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 12 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 872.18 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far till 12 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 6652.53 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far till 12 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
