Net purchases of Rs 847.11 crore 25 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained net buyers of Indian stocks for the twelfth trading session in a row on Monday, 25 July 2016. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 847.11 crore from the secondary equity market on 25 July 2016, compared with their purchases of Rs 518.64 crore on 22 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 847.11 crore on 25 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5011.89 crore and gross sales of Rs 4164.78 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 292.10 points or 1.05% to settle at 28,095.34, its highest closing level since 10 August 2015.
There was an outflow of Rs 43.45 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary market & others' on 25 July 2016.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8913.76 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 25 July 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 27149.74 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 25 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 494.10 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 25 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1424.71 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 25 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
