Net outflow of Rs 1112.19 crore on 1 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth net Rs 1112.19 crore on Friday, 1 August 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 1510.29 crore on Thursday, 31 July 2014.

The net outflow of Rs 1112.19 crore on 1 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4742.52 crore and gross sales of Rs 5854.71 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 1092.92 crore from the secondary equity market on 1 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4652.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 5745.69 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 414.13 points or 1.6% to 25,480.84, its lowest closing level since 15 July 2014.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 19.27 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 1 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 89.75 crore and gross sales of Rs 109.02 crore.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 2622.48 crore in August 2014 (till 1 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 70296.50 crore in this calendar year so far (till 1 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
