Net outflow of Rs 1129.84 crore on 22 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1129.84 crore from the secondary equity markets on 22 September 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 1176.21 crore on 21 September 2017. FPIs sold shares for the fifth straight session. On 22 September 2017, the Sensex fell 30.47 points or 0.09% to settle at 32,370.04, its lowest closing level since 15 September 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 1129.84 crore on 22 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4577.71 crore and gross sales of Rs 5707.55 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 2111.02 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 22 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2265.38 crore and gross sales of Rs 154.36 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 10888.24 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 22 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 17444.32 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 22 September 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 6377.10 crore from the category primary market & others' in September 2017 so far (till 22 September 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 1642.12 crore from the category primary market & others' in August 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 23789.87 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2017 so far (till 22 September 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
