Net outflow of Rs 2230.67 crore on 8 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 2230.67 crore into the secondary equity markets on 8 February 2018, higher than net outflow of Rs 1014.06 crore on 7 February 2018. On 8 February 2018, the Sensex rose 330.45 points or 0.97% to settle at 34,413.16, its highest closing level since 5 February 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 2230.67 crore from the secondary equity markets on 8 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4453.65 crore and gross sales of Rs 6684.32 crore.
There was an inflow of Rs 4.96 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 8 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6.32 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.36 crore.
FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 4885.20 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 8 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 1047.50 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far till 8 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
