Net outflow of Rs 1842.64 crore on 26 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1842.64 crore from the secondary equity markets on 26 September 2017, higher compared with net outflow of Rs 1180.62 crore on 25 September 2017. FPIs sold shares for the seventh straight session. On 26 September 2017, the Sensex fell 26.87 points or 0.08% to settle at 31,599.76, its lowest closing level since 29 August 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 1842.64 crore on 26 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3619.79 crore and gross sales of Rs 5462.43 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 186.32 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 26 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 188.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.71 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 13911.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 26 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
