Net outflow of Rs 40.73 crore on 18 May 2015

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 40.73 crore during the previous trading session yesterday, 18 May 2015, compared with net inflow of Rs 1748.63 crore on 15 May 2015.

The net outflow of Rs 40.73 crore on 18 May 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5012.22 crore and gross sales of Rs 5052.95 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 96.71 crore from the secondary equity market on 18 May 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4933.56 crore and gross sales of Rs 5030.27 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had jumped 363.30 points or 1.33% to settle at 27,687.30 on that day, its highest closing level since 23 April 2015.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 55.98 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 18 May 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 78.66 crore and gross sales of Rs 22.68 crore.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 5926.75 crore in this month so far (till 18 May 2015). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 8088.76 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 18 May 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 12078.12 crore last month. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 10155.09 crore from the secondary markets last month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 42266.90 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 18 May 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 32040.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 18 May 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
