Net outflow of Rs 158.71 crore on 16 March 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 158.71 crore into the secondary equity markets on 16 March 2018, compared with net outflow of Rs 633.07 crore on 15 March 2018. On 16 March 2018, the Sensex lost 509.54 points or 1.51% to settle at 33,176, its lowest closing level since 7 March 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 158.71 crore from the secondary equity markets on 16 March 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 14020.05 crore and gross sales of Rs 14178.76 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 1210 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 16 March 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1213.33 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.33 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 3661.20 crore in March 2018 so far (till 16 March 2018). They offloaded stocks worth a net Rs 16809.04 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
