FPIs step up buying

Net inflow of Rs 1296.13 crore on 11 July 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1296.13 crore on Friday, 11 July 2014, higher than net inflow of Rs 993.97 crore on Thursday, 10 July 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 1296.13 crore on 11 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5617.74 crore and gross sales of Rs 4321.61 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 675.82 crore from the secondary equity market on 11 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3645.59 crore and gross sales of Rs 4321.41 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had shed 348.40 points or 1.37% to settle at 25,024.35 on that day, its lowest closing level since 5 June 2014.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 1971.95 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 11 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1972.15 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.20 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8801.57 crore in this month so far (till 11 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 68596.80 crore in this calendar year so far (till 11 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
