Net inflow of Rs 1859.34 crore on 17 July 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1859.34 crore on Thursday, 17 July 2014, higher than net inflow of Rs 637.51 crore on Wednesday, 16 July 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 1859.34 crore on 17 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4444.24 crore and gross sales of Rs 2584.90 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1860.50 crore into the secondary equity market on 17 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4439.32 crore and gross sales of Rs 2578.82 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 11.44 points or 0.04% to settle at 25,561.16 on that day, its highest closing level since 8 July 2014.
There was a net outflow of Rs 1.16 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 17 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 6.08 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 10754.86 crore in this month so far (till 17 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 70550 crore in this calendar year so far (till 17 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
