FPIs step up buying

Net inflow of Rs 1314.71 crore on 3 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1314.71 crore on Wednesday, 3 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 873.08 crore on Tuesday, 2 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 1314.71 crore on 3 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6178.49 crore and gross sales of Rs 4863.78 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1301.43 crore into the secondary equity market on 3 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6165.21 crore and gross sales of Rs 4863.78 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had risen 120.55 points or 0.45% to settle at 27,139.94 on that day, a record closing high.

 

There was an inflow of Rs 13.28 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 3 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2240.18 crore in this month so far (till 3 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 2106.76 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 80575.30 crore in this calendar year so far (till 3 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 73450.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
