Net inflow of Rs 638.13 crore on 4 December 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 638.13 crore on Thursday, 4 December 2014, higher than inflow of Rs 409.09 crore on Wednesday, 3 December 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 638.13 crore on 4 December 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4068.41 crore and gross sales of Rs 3430.28 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 612.06 crore into the secondary equity market on 4 December 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4042.34 crore and gross sales of Rs 3430.28 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had risen 120.11 points or 0.42% to settle at 28,562.82 on that day, its highest closing level since 28 November 2014.
There was an inflow of Rs 26.07 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 4 December 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4031.88 crore so far this month (till 4 December 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 2211.27 crore from the secondary markets so far this month (till 4 December 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13753.29 crore last month. They purchased bought shares worth a net Rs 12677.10 crore from the secondary markets last month.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 100051.40 crore in this calendar year so far (till 4 December 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 88359.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far (till 4 December 2014).
