Net purchases of Rs 235.41 crore 13 June 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) made modest purchases of Indian stocks during the previous trading session on Monday, 13 June 2016, as per data released by the depositories. FPIs stocks worth a net Rs 235.41 crore on 13 June 2016, compared with their purchases of Rs 220.21 crore during the preceding trading session on 10 June 2016. The net inflow of Rs 235.41 crore into the secondary equity markets on 13 June 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3856.27 crore and gross sales of Rs 3620.86 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex shed 238.98 points or 0.9% to settle at 26,396.77, its lowest closing level since 26 May 2016.
There was an inflow of Rs 122.41 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' on 13 June 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 128.19 crore and gross sales of Rs 5.78 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4449.63 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 13 June 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 2000 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 19266.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 13 June 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 117.47 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 13 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 542.89 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 754.10 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 13 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
