Net purchases of Rs 1947.91 crore 28 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained net buyers of Indian stocks for yet another trading session on Thursday, 28 July 2016. FPIs bought stocks worth net Rs 1947.91 crore from the secondary equity market on 28 July 2016, which was higher than their purchases of Rs 480.76 crore on 27 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 1947.91 crore on 28 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8580.27 crore and gross sales of Rs 6632.36 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 184.29 points or 0.66% to settle at 28,208.62, its highest closing level since 7 August 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 62.74 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary market & others' on 28 July 2016.
FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 12068.52 crore from the secondary equity markets in July 2016 (till 28 July 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June 2016. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 30304.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 28 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 543.30 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in July 2016 (till 28 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June 2016. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1473.60 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 28 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
