FPIs step up buying

Net inflow of Rs 1607.29 crore on 22 January 2018

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 1607.29 crore from the secondary equity markets on 22 January 2018, higher than net inflow of Rs 1103.08 crore on 19 January 2018. On 22 January 2018, the Sensex gained 286.43 points or 0.81% to settle at 35,798.01, a record closing high.

The net inflow of Rs 1607.29 crore into the secondary equity markets on 22 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6984.84 crore and gross sales of Rs 5377.55 crore.

There was a net outflow of Rs 63.47 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 22 January 2018, which was a result of Rs 1.80 crore gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 65.27 crore.

 

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 8631.04 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018 so far (till 22 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 230.88 crore into the primary market & others' category in January 2018 so far (till 22 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
