Net outflow of Rs 1746.97 crore on 4 December 2015
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1746.97 crore on Friday, 4 December 2015, compared with net outflow of Rs 535.75 crore on Thursday, 3 December 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 1746.97 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 December 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3515.67 crore and gross sales of Rs 5262.64 crore. On that day, the Sensex lost 248.51 points or 0.96% to settle at 25,638.11, its lowest closing level since 18 November 2015.
There was a net outflow of Rs 56.78 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 4 December 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 10 crore and gross sales of Rs 66.78 crore.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 3122.07 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 4 December 2015). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 8413.23 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 4895.20 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 4 December 2015). They bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
