Net inflow of Rs 860.56 crore on 12 December 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 860.56 crore into the secondary equity markets on 12 December 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 157.71 crore on 11 December 2017. On 12 December 2017, the Sensex fell 227.80 points or 0.68% to settle at 33,227.99, its lowest closing level since 7 December 2017.
The net inflow of Rs 860.56 crore on 12 December 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6885.76 crore and gross sales of Rs 6025.20 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 59.93 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 12 December 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4.85 crore and gross sales of Rs 64.78 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 4189.36 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 12 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8924.04 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 12 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 808.52 crore from the primary market & others' category in December 2017 so far (till 12 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 10024.15 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 44831.27 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 12 December 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
