Net inflow of Rs 152.97 crore on 4 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 152.97 crore from the secondary equity market yesterday, 4 July 2016, compared with outflow of Rs 202.53 crore on Friday, 1 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 152.97 crore into the secondary equity markets on 4 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2964.68 crore and gross sales of Rs 2811.71 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 133.85 points or 0.49% to settle at 27,278.76, its highest closing level since 26 October 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 3.89 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 4 July 2016 was a result of nil gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 3.89 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1123.02 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 4 July 2016). FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 19359 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 4 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 244.21 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 4 July 2016). There has been a net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1174.82 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 4 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
