Net inflow of Rs 86.70 crore on 28 August 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 86.70 crore from the secondary equity markets yesterday, 28 August 2017, as compared to net sales of Rs 567.82 crore on 24 August 2017. On 28 August 2017, the Sensex rose 154.76 points or 0.49% to settle at 31,750.82, its highest closing level since 17 August 2017.
Domestic stock markets had remained closed on Friday, 25 August 2017 on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The net inflow of Rs 86.70 crore on 28 August 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5987.41 crore and gross sales of Rs 5900.71 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 9.69 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 28 August 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 10.72 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.03 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 16086.28 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017 so far (till 28 August 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 4199.62 crore from the secondary equity markets in July 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 26657.33 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 28 August 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 1475.99 crore from the category primary market & others' in August 2017 so far (till 28 August 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 972.54 crore from the category primary market & others' in July 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 17247.39 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2017 so far (till 25 August 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
