Net outflow of Rs 96.69 crore on 16 May 2016

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 96.69 crore on 16 May 2016 compared with net inflow of Rs 1602.36 crore on 13 May 2016. The net outflow of Rs 96.69 crore into the secondary equity markets on 16 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3869.61 crore and gross sales of Rs 3966.30 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 163.66 points or 0.64% to settle at 25,653.23, its highest closing level since 12 May 2016.

There was an inflow of Rs 0.18 crore from 'primary markets & others' category on 16 May 2016.

 

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1230 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 16 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 14047.01 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 16 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.

The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 97.09 crore in this month so far (till 16 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 190.90 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 16 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
