Net sales of Rs 1003.90 crore on 30 September 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1003.90 crore into the secondary equity markets on 30 September 2016, compared with their net buying of Rs 3367.01 crore during the preceding trading session on 29 September 2016. The net outflow of Rs 1003.90 crore on 30 September 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4469.67 crore and gross sales of Rs 5473.57 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 38.43 points or 0.14% to settle at 27,865.96, its highest closing level since 28 September 2016.
The net inflow of Rs 820.07 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 30 September 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 824.04 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.97 crore.
FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8906.89 crore from the secondary equity markets in August 2016. FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4863.71 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There was a net inflow of Rs 164.43 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in August 2016. There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
