Net outflow of Rs 147.62 crore on 9 January 2018

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 147.62 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 January 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 599.97 crore on 8 January 2018. On 9 January 2018, the Sensex rose 90.40 points or 0.26% to settle at 34,443.19, its record closing high.

The net outflow of Rs 147.62 crore from the secondary equity markets on 9 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4902.59 crore and gross sales of Rs 5050.21 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 125.93 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 9 January 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 125.93 crore and zero gross sales.

 

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 3361.08 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018 so far (till 9 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 273.65 crore into the primary market & others' category in January 2018 so far (till 9 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
