Gas stocks advanced 0.01% to 2.11% after the FM proposed to extend gas grid in the country by 11,000 km.
Gujarat State Petronet (up 2.11%), Gail (India) (up 1.99%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (up 0.77%) and Petronet LNG (up 0.64%), rose.
Among the city gas distributors, Gujarat Gas (up 1.07%), Adani Gas (up 0.96%) and Mahanagar Gas (up 0.48%) advanced.
Presenting the Union Budget 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said she proposes to expand national gas grid to 27,000 km from 16,200 km, where it stands currently.
