Gayatri Projects announces syncronisation of 2nd unit of TPCIL's coal fired power plant

Commercial operations expected to commence end of September 2015

Gayatri Projects announced that TPCIL (Thermal Power tech Corporation India) the joint venture company between Gayatri Energy Ventures (GEVPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gayatri Projects and Singapore based SembCorp Utilities (a wholly owned subsidiary of SembCorp Industries) has successfully synchronized the second 660-megawatt unit of its plant to the grid.

The plant's first unit of 660 Megawatt which was synchronized in December 2014, started commercial operations in February 2015.

Post the synchronization of its second unit, TPCIL is oncourse to commence commercial operations of its total 1,320 MW operating capacity by the end of September 2015.

 

TPCIL a 1,320 MW coal -fired power plant located in Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh's SPSR Nellore District, India has signed a power purchase agreement with Andhra Pradesh Power Distribution Companies for the supply of 500 megawatts to the Central, Eastern, Southern and Northern Power Distribution Companies of Andhra Pradesh for a period of 25 years. It has also secured a fuel supply agreements with Mahanadi Coal Fields and Indonesia!based PT Bayan Resources for the supply of coal to its super!critical coal!fired power plant.
