Gayatri Projects gained 1.64% to Rs 635.45 at 15:45 IST on BSE after net profit rose 48.01% to Rs 9.99 crore on 10.32% rise in net total income from operations to Rs 349.95 crore in Q2 September 2016 over Q2 September 2015.
The announcement was made after market hours yesterday, 8 December 2016.Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 87.52 points, or 0.33%, to 26,781.80.
More than usual volumes were witnessed on the counter. On the BSE, 6,899 shares were traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volume of 4,656 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 644 and a low of Rs 619.10 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 790 on 23 September 2016. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 482 on 17 February 2016.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past 30 days till 8 December 2016, falling 6.41% compared with 3.25% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 7% as against Sensex's 8.09% decline.
The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 35.45 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
