GSK Consumer Healthcare gets a boost from strong Q2 results

GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare rose 2.12% to Rs 2,695 at 15:03 IST on BSE after net profit jumped 29.27% to Rs 106.60 crore on 14.15% growth in total income to Rs 786.96 crore in Q2 June 2012 over Q2 June 2011.

The company announced the results during trading hours today, 1 August 2012.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 32.33 points or 0.19% to 17,268.51.

On BSE, 3,499 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 2,898 shares in the past two weeks.

The stock hit a high of Rs 2,715 and a low of Rs 2,641 so far during the day.

 

GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare is leading player in the malted food drinks segment. Some of its major brands include Horlicks, Boost, Viva, and Maltova.
