Gujarat Gas Company drops on profit booking

Gujarat Gas Company declined 1.89% to Rs 608.10 at 14:05 IST on BSE, with the stock declining on profit booking after recent upmove.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1.31 points at 28,384.88

On BSE, so far 1.71 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 33,435 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 631 and a low of Rs 602.55 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 633 yesterday, 26 November 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 219.25 on 5 March 2014.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 26 November 2014, rising 27.54% compared with the Sensex's 5.72% rise. The scrip also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 40.59% as against Sensex's 7.35% rise.

The mid-cap firm has an equity capital of Rs 25.65 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Gujarat Gas Company were on a roll recently, advancing 19.07% to Rs 619.80 on 26 November 2014 from a recent low of Rs 520.50 on 21 November 2014.

Gujarat Gas Company's consolidated net profit fell 35.13% to Rs 77.25 crore on 17.01% decline in total income to Rs 699.11 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2014 over the quarter ended 30 September 2013.

Gujarat Gas Company is a part of Gujarat state controlled GSPC Group and is into distribution of natural gas.
