Gujarat State Petronet drops after poor Q4 earnings

Gujarat State Petronet lost 1.78% to Rs 79.80 at 11:19 IST on BSE after net profit fell 43.35% to Rs 91.46 crore on 34.37% decline in total income to Rs 245.92 crore in Q4 March2014 over Q4 March 2013.

The Q4 result was announced after market hours on Thursday, 22 May 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 208.42 points or 0.86% at 24,582.82.

On BSE, so far 2.44 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 5.23 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

The stock hit a high of Rs 81.90 and a low of Rs 79.25 so far during the day.

 

Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL)'s net profit fell 22.11% to Rs 419.14 crore on 10.76% decline in total income to Rs 1105.87 crore in the year ended 31 March 2014 (FY 2014) over the year ended 31 March 2013 (FY 2013).

On consolidated basis, GSPL's net profit fell 22.69% to Rs 415.78 crore on 10.62% decline in total income to Rs 1107.56 crore in FY 2014 over FY 2013.

GSPL was set up to complement the efforts of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). While GSPC harnesses and procures natural gas, GSPL is building the infrastructure that transmits the gas across Gujarat and ultimately allows last-mile linkage to the end-user.
