HDFC gains after bulk deal

HDFC advanced 3.14% to Rs 1,328.60 at 15:14 IST on BSE after 0.05% equity changed hands in a bulk deal today, 18 February 2015.

A bulk deal of 8.39 lakh shares was executed on the HDFC scrip at Rs 1,314 per share at 09:53 IST on BSE today, 18 February 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 208.89 points or 0.72% at 29,344.77

Bulk deal boosted volume on the HDFC counter. On BSE, so far 10.61 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.29 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 1,333 and a low of Rs 1,289 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 1,360.70 on 28 January 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 755.60 on 14 February 2014.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 16 February 2015, gaining 7.97% compared with Sensex's 3.61% rise. The scrip also outperformed the market in past one quarter, advancing 14.38% as against Sensex's 3.88% rise.

The large-cap housing finance major has equity capital of Rs 314.48 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

HDFC's net profit rose 11.6% to Rs 1425.49 crore on 14.1% growth in total income to Rs 6882.52 crore in Q3 December 2014 over Q3 December 2013.

HDFC has a wide network of offices spread across the country. It also has offices in Dubai, London and Singapore and service associates in the Middle East region, to provide housing loans and property advisory services to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
