Hero MotoCorp drops after 2-day 6% rally

Hero MotoCorp lost 1.78% to Rs 1,677 at 13:09 IST on BSE, with the stock sliding on profit booking after 2-day 6.05% rally.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 69.05 points or 0.35% at 19,958.

On BSE, 13,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 33,755 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 1,714.90 and a low of Rs 1,673.80 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,434.05 on 15 April 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,149.95 on 29 June 2012.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 7 May 2013, jumping 15.48% compared with the Sensex's 7.8% surge. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 2.91% as against Sensex's 1.58% rise.

India's largest two-wheeler maker by sales has equity capital of Rs 39.94 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Hero MotoCorp had surged 6.05% in two trading sessions to settle at Rs 1,707.40 on Tuesday, 7 May 2013, from a recent low of Rs 1,609.90 on 3 May 2013.

The company said on 1 May 2013 that its total sales fell 9.5% to 4.99 lakh in April 2013 over April 2012.

Hero MotoCorp's net profit declined 4.9% to Rs 574.23 crore on 1.8% growth in net sales to Rs 6072.47 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012.

Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of production capacity.
