The Hong Kong stock market finished session lower on Monday, 15 January 2018, breaking a 14-day winning streak, as investors elected to book gains made recently amid losses in mainland Chinese equities. Mainland China market declined after latest data showed a big end-of-year deceleration in loan growth, and China's broadest measure of money-supply posted another record-low increase. The Hang Seng Index closed down 0.23%, or 73.67 points, at 31,338.87. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index was little changed, up 1.49 points at 12,470.42. The sub-index of the Hang Seng tracking energy shares dipped 1.7% while the IT sector dipped 2.22%, the financial sector was 0.44% higher and property sector dipped 1.26%.
