Hong Kong share market closed down on Thursday, 17 May 2018, as investors took a cautious stance amid as persistent weakness in the local currency, rising U.S. bond yields, and ahead of the Sino-U.S. trade talks to be held later in the day. Investors were concerned over potential outflows from regional equity markets as the U.S. 10-year bond yield hovered near seven-year highs. The Hang Seng Index ended down 168 points or 0.5% to 30,942. Turnover increased to HK$111.3 billion from HK$100.5 billion on Wednesday.
