IFB Inds drops after unimpressive Q3 results

IFB Industries was down 5% to Rs 1,237.05 at 11:29 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit rose 12.3% to Rs 17.29 crore on 19.9% growth in net sales to Rs 549.37 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.

The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 30 January 2018.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 125.26 points or 0.35% at 35,908.47. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index fell 0.21%, outperforming the Sensex.

On the BSE, 1,985 shares were traded on the counter so far as against average daily volumes of 4,791 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 1,289.95 and a low of Rs 1,212.25 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 1,542.90 on 11 January 2018 and a 52-week low of Rs 507 on 30 January 2017.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 30 January 2018, sliding 3.88% compared with the Sensex's 5.8% rise. The stock had, however, outperformed the market over the past one quarter, advancing 37% as against the Sensex's 8.32% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market over the past one year, surging 150.67% as against the Sensex's 29.39% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 40.52 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Shares of IFB Industries had witnessed a pre-result slide. The stock had fallen 8.62% in the prior five trading sessions to settle at Rs 1,302.10 yesterday, 30 January 2018, from its closing of Rs 1,425.05 on 22 January 2018.

IFB Industries' product range includes Fine Blanked components, tools and related machine tools like Straighteners, Decoilers, Strip loaders and others. The engineering divisions are located at Kolkata & Bangalore. The Bangalore unit, apart from Fine Blanked components, manufactures motors for white goods as well as automotive applications.
