Crude oil production dips 3.5% in April-November 2018

India's crude oil production declined 3.5% to 2.78 million tonnes (mt) in November 2018 over November 2017. Crude oil output of ONGC fell 5.0% to 1.71 mt, while that of Oil India declined 2.4% to 0.27 mt. The crude oil production of private and joint venture (JV) companies also eased 0.4% to 0.80 mt in November 2018. ONGC's offshore output fell 7.4% to 1.21 mt, while onshore production rose 1.3% to 0.50 mt.

Crude oil output declined 3.6% to 23.08 mt in April-November period of the fiscal year ending March 2019 (April-November 2018), in addition to 0.2% decline recorded in the corresponding period of last year. Output of ONGC declined 5.6% to 14.15 mt, while that of Oil India fell 0.8% to 2.24 mt. However, the crude oil production of private companies also eased 0.1% to 6.69 mt in April-November 2018 over April-November 2017.
