Fuel product consumption up 1.9% in April-August 2019
India's fuel product consumption or sales improved 2.8% to 17.04 mt in August 2019 over a year ago. LPG sales improved 13.0% to 2.40 mt, petrol 8.9% to 2.57 mt, other products 10.8% to 0.98 mt and petcoke 3.8% to 1.79 mt. Further, the consumption of bitumen also moved up 23.7% to 0.26 mt, naphtha 3.6% to 1.15 mt and light diesel oil (LDO) 35.7% to 0.06 mt. However, the consumption of ATF declined 0.6% to 0.68 mt, fuel oil 16.0% to 0.50 mt, kerosene 24.0% to 0.23 mt, diesel 1.1% to 6.12 mt and lubes/greases 13.3% to 0.32 mt in August 2019.Consumption or sales of fuel products fell 1.9% to 89.61 mt in April-August 2019 over April-August 2018. Sales of LPG increased 3.6% to 10.36 mt, petrol 9.6% to 12.93 mt and other products 18.3% to 5.11 mt. Consumption of diesel also gained 1.8% to 35.51 mt, bitumen 6.4% to 2.62 mt and LDO 12.3% to 0.26 mt. However, the consumption of naphtha declined 11.5% to 5.01 mt, kerosene 19.5% to 1.21 mt, petcoke 2.2% to 9.20 mt, fuel oil 6.1% to 2.53 mt, ATF 2.8% to 3.33 mt and lubes/greases 4.2% to 1.54 mt in April-August 2019.
