India's fuel products consumption falls 0.8% in October 2014

Consumption/sales of fuel product improves 3.3% to 93.85 mt in April-October FY2015

India's fuel product consumption/sales declined 0.8% to 13.09 million tonnes (mt) in October 2014. The decline in the sales of fuel products was mainly driven by 3.2% dip in the diesel sales to 5.45 mt, while the sales of fuel oil 12.5% to 0.46 mt and naphtha 6.1% to 0.86 mt also decline in October 2014. Further, the sales also declined for bitumen 14.8% to 0.29 mt, kerosene 2.3% to 0.59 mt, and lubes 5% to 0.23 mt.

On the other hand, the sales increased for LPG 6.9% to 1.5 mt, petrol 10.5% to 1.62 mt and petcoke 2.8% to 1.14 mt in October 2014. Sales of ATF improved 0.2% to 0.47 mt, while that of other products rose 0.7% to 0.47 mt in October 2014.

 

Consumption/sales of fuel product have increased 3.3% to 93.85 mt in April-October FY2015, compared to 1.6% growth recorded in the corresponding previous-year period. The sales increased for products such as petrol 10.3%, petcoke 13.9%, and LPG 10.1%. Consumption of diesel also moved up 0.7%, while improved for lubes 6.9%, ATF 3.2% and bitumen 6.8%. However, the sales declined for fuel oil 6.2%, naphtha 1.8% and others 2.9% in April-October FY2015.
