SBI, HDFC and Yes Bank most active in futures segment.
The Nifty November 2019 futures was at 11,924.10, a premium of 46.65 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,877.45 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 26.20 lakh crore compared with Rs 14 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 33.35 points, 0.28% at 11,877.45.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 2.10% at 16.3075.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 28 November 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 16.59 lakh contracts at the 11,800 strike price. Maximum put OI of 17.48 lakh contracts was seen at 11,600 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,600 and 11,800 levels for the Nifty.
State Bank of India, Housing Development Finance Corporation and Yes Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
State Bank of India November 2019 futures were at 312.60, compared with spot closing price of 312.50. Housing Development Finance Corporation November 2019 futures were at 2,142.85 compared with spot closing price of 2,137. Yes Bank November 2019 futures were at 70.25, compared with spot closing price of 70.30.
The November 2019 F&O contracts expires on 28 November 2019.
