Information Technology stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index rising 219.43 points or 1.73% at 12939.99 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd (up 9.21%), 3i Infotech Ltd (up 5.95%),Zen Technologies Ltd (up 5.21%),Intellect Design Arena Ltd (up 4.96%),Datamatics Global Services Ltd (up 4.95%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tanla Solutions Ltd (up 4.94%), AXISCADES Engineering Technologies Ltd (up 4.93%), Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd (up 4.92%), HCL Infosystems Ltd (up 4.84%), and CESC Ventures Ltd (up 4.84%).
On the other hand, Firstsource Solutions Ltd (down 3.06%), Nucleus Software Exports Ltd (down 2.66%), and TVS Electronics Ltd (down 2.29%) moved lower.
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 101.09 or 0.32% at 31689.81.
The Nifty 50 index was up 12.65 points or 0.14% at 9279.4.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 114.75 points or 1.06% at 10915.66.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 42.44 points or 1.12% at 3839.19.
On BSE,1069 shares were trading in green, 596 were trading in red and 66 were unchanged.
