Insilco announced that in consultation with Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), the Company has filed a fresh
application for renewal of consent under section 25/26 of Water (Prevention & Control of
Pollution) Act, 1974 ('water consent') and consent to operate under section 21/22 of Air
(Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 ('air consent') after change in its process for water
treatment to meet prescribed standard of Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR). The Company's
application is still under consideration before UPPCB.
Further, the No Objection Certificate (NOC) received from Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) for extraction of ground water has expired on 7 December 2019. The Company had applied for its renewal on 11 September 2019 which is yet to be approved by CGWA.
The Company is following up with UPPCB and CGWA.
