The Japan share market finished session higher on Friday, 23 February 2018, on tracking another strong lead from the Dow Jones on Wall Street which advanced 164 points overnight. However, the Tokyo market's topside grew heavy after the yen strengthened against the dollar. Among TSE 33 sectors, Oil and coal product, mining and construction-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. The 225-issue Nikkei average climbed 156.34 points, or 0.72%, to end at 21,892.78. The Topix index of all first-section issues was up 14.36 points, or 0.82%, at 1,760.53.
