JSW Steel shines on rise in crude steel production

JSW Steel was up 1.05% to Rs 269.80 at 12:41 IST on the BSE, after the company announced 4% rise in the crude steel production in May 2019 over May 2018.

The announcement was made during market hours today, 11 June 2019.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up by 122.56 points or 0.31% to 39,907.08

On the BSE, 1.17 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 4.25 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 270.25 and a low of Rs 265.25 so far during the day. It hit a 52-week high of Rs 427.30 on 21 September 2018 and a 52-week low of Rs 256.80 on 11 February 2019.

 

JSW Steel said that crude steel production rose 4% to 14.53 lakh tonnes for May 2019 over May 2018. Production of flat rolled products rose 6% to 10.17 lakh tones and long rolled products rose 9% to 3.58 lakh tones during the stated period.

JSW Steel reported 48.1% drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 1495 crore on 2.3% rise in the consolidated net sales to Rs 21837 crore in Q4 March 2019 over Q4 March 2018.

JSW Steel is primarily engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of iron and steel products.
