Torrent Power, IRB Infrastructure Developers, Shriram City Union Finance and Central Bank of India are among the other gainers.
Jubilant FoodWorks spurted 16.23% to Rs 1,360.70. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. A report suggested that Jubilant FoodWorks which does two price increases every year, one in the first half and one in the second half will do price hike for second half this month. Typically, the price increase is in the range of 3% every year. But this time, the price increase will be around 5%, the report added.
Torrent Power galloped 14.26% to Rs 95.75. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
IRB Infrastructure Developers jumped 11.91% to Rs 96.80. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Shriram City Union Finance surged 11.8% to Rs 1,115 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Central Bank of India rose 8.91% to Rs 64.15 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The state-run bank during trading hours today, 5 November 2013 announced that it has fixed the issue price at Rs 58.85 per equity share for preferential issue of shares aggregating Rs 1800 crore in favour of Government of India. Accordingly, the bank will allot 30.58 crore equity shares to GoI on preferential basis, thereby raising Rs 1800 crore. The Government of India (GoI) currently holds 85.31% stake in Central Bank of India (as per the shareholding pattern as on 30 September 2013)
